Utility Week Winner: The Glen Dimplex Quantum Tariff

This year, Utility Week introduced the Flex Awards to honour individuals, teams and organisations pioneering in the energy flexibility space. In the face of fierce competition, with a high number of submissions from a range of quality propositions in the market, the panel of expert judges whittled it down to 7 finalists. We were honoured to win the 'Best Domestic Flexibility Proposition' for the British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff. This accolade, achieved in collaboration with Dimplex, highlights the groundbreaking impact of our tariff, which makes decarbonisation of heat and flexible grid service participation accessible to a wide audience, including those in hard-to-treat properties and living in fuel poverty.

The British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff is the UK's most advanced electric storage heating tariff, designed specifically for Dimplex Quantum Storage Heaters. This innovative smart tariff leverages 100% renewable electricity and offers lower rates than typical Economy 7 tariffs by charging the heaters when electricity is cheapest on the grid. The solution is designed to offer competitive day and night electricity pricing which enhances the appeal of renewable technology, helping to address customers’ needs by reducing their energy costs.

This recognition underscores the significant role that flexible thermal storage propositions play in the electrification of heat as we transition away from fossil fuels. We are proud that we have been able to create a new and simple solution that benefits customers and contributes towards net zero.
